La historia de Limana
In the Belluno Prealps
The municipal territory lies in the Valbelluna, between the agricultural valley floor and the first slopes of the Belluno Prealps, a short distance from Belluno. It is a transitional landscape, where cultivated fields give way to woods and steeper slopes as the land rises towards the pre-alpine hillsides.
The honey town
Limana is known locally as the honey town, thanks to a beekeeping tradition widespread across the area, promoted in recent years through initiatives and events dedicated to local production, alongside the area's other agricultural activities.
The Festa a Limana
Every year in mid-August, the Festa a Limana takes place, the most important event in community life: food specialities, theatre and music performances, farmers' and artisan markets, and entertainment fill the town for several days.
Rural life and the pre-alpine landscape
The municipality retains an agricultural and residential character, without major monuments to note, but with a quiet pre-alpine landscape of small hamlets, fields and woods, reflecting the widespread character of the Valbelluna.
