Its position, between cultivated lowland and the first mountain slopes, makes it a natural passage point for those heading up the valley toward the higher peaks. The settlement still preserves a compact layout today, typical of rural Solandra villages, with stone houses gathered around the parish church.

The origins of Terzolas date back to the medieval period, when the small settlement was part of the network of rural villages in Val di Sole, tied to mountain farming and livestock breeding. Over the centuries the village kept its agricultural character, with farmhouses, barns and small courtyards that still shape its historic centre today. The cuisine of Terzolas reflects the farming traditions of Val di Sole, where apples remain the absolute protagonist, used in strudel, juices and preserves made with fruit from the local orchards.
