An Alpine area between the Dolomites and Lagorai
Val di Fiemme is an area in eastern Trentino, in Trentino-Alto Adige, crossed by the Avisio river and enclosed between the Latemar massif to the northeast and the porphyritic Lagorai range to the south. The territory includes several municipalities, including Cavalese, Predazzo, Tesero, and Ziano di Fiemme, spread along the valley floor and on the wooded slopes that rise towards the Alpine passes. It borders Val di Fassa, South Tyrol via the Lavazè Pass, and Val di Cembra further downstream, in a position that has always made the valley a crossroads between different Alpine cultures and territories.
The Magnifica Comunità di Fiemme, an ancient identity

Δάση, κορυφές και το Δάσος των Βιολιών
Το τοπίο της Val di Fiemme εναλλάσσει δάση ερυθρελάτης, αλπικά λιβάδια και δολομιτικές κορυφές. Το Latemar, με τις ανοιχτόχρωμες οδοντώσεις του, αποτελεί μέρος των ορεινών συστημάτων που αναγνωρίζονται από την UNESCO ως Μνημείο Παγκόσμιας Κληρονομιάς των Δολομιτών, ενώ το Lagorai, πορφυρικής προέλευσης, προσφέρει ένα πιο άγριο περιβάλλον από αλπικές λίμνες και λιγότερο πολυσύχναστα μονοπάτια. Προς το Predazzo εκτείνεται το Δάσος Paneveggio, γνωστό ως Δάσος των Βιολιών για τις ερυθρελάτες με αντηχητικό ξύλο που επιλέγονται αιώνες για την κατασκευή μουσικών οργάνων, συνδεδεμένες επίσης με την ιταλική παράδοση της κατασκευής βιολιών. Cavalese, Predazzo, Tesero: τα χωριά που πρέπει να ανακαλύψετε
Cavalese, capital of the valley, is home to the Palazzo della Magnifica Comunità and a compact historic center at the foot of the Cermis, reachable by cable car. Predazzo, at the confluence of Val di Fiemme and Val di Fassa, is known for its tradition linked to geology and for the sports facilities that have hosted the Nordic Ski World Championships. Tesero preserves a characteristic historic center with houses featuring frescoed facades, while Ziano di Fiemme, one of the smallest municipalities in the valley, is a starting point for excursions towards the Lagorai. The other villages in the area complete a mosaic of hamlets united by a common history and economy.
Mountain flavors: food and wine and traditions
The cuisine of Val di Fiemme reflects its mountainous vocation: canederli, polenta, porcini mushrooms, and blueberries picked in the woods accompany meat dishes and mountain pasture cheeses produced in high-altitude dairies. Among the typical cured meats is mortandela, produced with pork processed according to tradition, while locally produced grappa often concludes meals in mountain huts and chalets. Alongside gastronomy, the valley keeps alive traditions linked to wood and craftsmanship, a direct legacy of the forest management of the Magnifica Comunità, visible in the carvings and wooden objects still found in the markets and shops of the villages.
