A village in the heart of Tesino
Cinte Tesino is located on the Tesino plateau, in eastern Valsugana, along with the municipalities of Castello Tesino and Pieve Tesino. It is a small mountain village nestled among meadows and woods, at an altitude that offers fresh air even in the height of summer. Its location, secluded from major tourist flows, makes it a peaceful starting point for exploring eastern Valsugana, the slopes of Lagorai, and the valley carved by the Grigno stream, maintaining an authentic atmosphere of alpine life.
History and the tradition of the perghèmeri
Il Tesino, di cui Cinte fa parte, è storicamente noto per la tradizione degli stampatori e venditori ambulanti di immagini sacre e stampe popolari, i cosiddetti perghèmeri, che dal Settecento partivano dai paesi dell'altopiano per vendere le loro incisioni in giro per l'Europa, portando con sé anche notizie e novità dal mondo esterno. Questa attività itinerante ha segnato profondamente l'identità delle comunità tesine, lasciando un patrimonio di memoria che oggi viene raccontato in musei e iniziative culturali dedicati a questa singolare figura di venditore-viaggiatore.
Natura tra il Grigno e il Lagorai
Il territorio di Cinte Tesino si affaccia sulla valle del torrente Grigno, che scorre incassato in una forra spettacolare tra pareti rocciose e boschi fitti, prima di scendere verso la Valsugana. Alle spalle del paese si estendono i pascoli e i boschi che salgono verso le propaggini del Lagorai, catena selvaggia di origine vulcanica, e verso il massiccio di Cima d'Asta, la vetta più alta della zona. Questo ambiente di mezza montagna, ricco di sorgenti e radure, è l'elemento che più caratterizza il paesaggio del Tesino.

Cinte Tesino is a good base for trekking enthusiasts: the trails starting from the village lead to high-altitude pastures, the Lagorai refuges, and panoramic viewpoints over the Grigno gorge. In winter, the plateau is ideal for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing on marked trails through the woods. In summer, the cooler days compared to the valley floor attract those seeking quiet walks, mountain biking on forest roads, and simple moments of relaxation immersed in nature, far from tourist traffic.

The cuisine of Cinte Tesino is rooted in the peasant mountain tradition of eastern Trentino: alpine pasture cheeses, local cured meats, mushrooms gathered in the Lagorai woods, and dishes based on potatoes and polenta make up the typical table.
