La storia di Chiesina Uzzanese è legata a lungo a quella del vicino comune di Uzzano, di cui la località costituiva una frazione. Solo nel secondo dopoguerra, nel 1949, Chiesina Uzzanese ottenne l'autonomia amministrativa, diventando comune a sé stante. Le sue origini rurali affondano però radici più antiche, legate allo sviluppo agricolo della Valdinievole e alle bonifiche che nei secoli hanno reso coltivabile una pianura in parte paludosa. Ancora oggi il paese conserva tracce di questo passato contadino nell'organizzazione del territorio e nelle case coloniche sparse tra i campi.
