Europe's Largest Thermal Basin
Montegrotto Terme, together with Abano Terme, forms the continent's leading thermal district in terms of size and capacity. Rainwater falling on the Asiago plateau and the Vicenza Prealps seeps underground, travels a long subterranean route lasting decades, and re-emerges here at high temperatures, laden with minerals recognised for their therapeutic properties in treating rheumatic, respiratory and motor conditions. At the Foot of the Euganean Hills
Montegrotto sits at the south-eastern edge of the Euganean Hills, a group of volcanic rises standing isolated in the Veneto plain, today protected as a Regional Park.
