Tesero lies in the heart of Val di Fiemme, the Trentino valley carved by the Avisio stream, roughly halfway between Cavalese, historic seat of the Magnifica Comunità di Fiemme, and Predazzo, gateway to the eastern Dolomites. The village enjoys a privileged position, looking on one side toward the pale spires of the Latemar, a UNESCO World Heritage Dolomite group, and on the other toward the wilder, more wooded slopes of the Lagorai, a porphyry range less frequented by tourists but rich in alpine lakes and long-distance trails. This double exposure makes Tesero a balanced starting point both for those seeking high Dolomite peaks and for those who prefer wilder, quieter routes. The village retains the typical layout of Fiemme settlements, with stone and timber houses gathered around the parish church, and lends itself to a walking visit that combines alpine scenery with everyday village life.

Alpine skiing at Latemar-Pampeago and hiking
Beyond cross-country skiing, Tesero is also a reference point for alpine skiing thanks to its proximity to the Ski Center Latemar, the ski area built around the Pampeago hub at the foot of the Latemar Dolomite massif. The slopes, well exposed and linked to the other facilities of Val di Fiemme, allow skiing with views toward the spires of the Latemar, one of the less crowded but most striking Dolomite groups for shape and colour. In summer the area turns into an ideal territory for hiking: trails and old mule tracks climb from the valley floor through spruce woods and alpine pastures, then push into the glacial cirques of the Latemar or, on the opposite side, among the more isolated peaks of the Lagorai. Those seeking wide panoramas can walk even just a stretch of these routes starting directly from Tesero, enjoying views that stretch from the Avisio valley to the Dolomite ridges.
