History and origins
Borso's history is tied to the Treviso countryside and, like the whole Grappa area, to the First World War: the massif was the scene of fierce fighting between 1917 and 1918, and the memory of those events remains etched into the trenches, military tunnels and memorials that dot the mountain. The village, with its agricultural roots, has retained over time a fabric of small hamlets and settlements scattered along the slope, typical of Veneto's foothill settlements.

Climbing towards the summit of Grappa, also reachable from the Borso side, one encounters trenches, tunnels and military positions from the Great War, as well as the large Military Memorial that honours the fallen of the front. The municipality lies in the province of Treviso, at the foot of Monte Grappa, easily reached by car from Bassano del Grappa and the Treviso plain. It has no direct rail service; the nearest station is Bassano del Grappa. One of the access roads to the summit of Grappa starts from Borso, a meeting point between the provinces of Treviso, Vicenza and Belluno.

The local economy is based on agriculture, particularly hillside viticulture, livestock farming and forestry, alongside niche tourism linked to free flying and historical-naturalistic hiking on Grappa.
